In order for a person with disability to get a government ID that allows them to receive the help they need and for their rights to be recognized and services rolled out, there has to be a process of assessment by experts. There are many areas of recognized disability, including physical and mental.
Below is an assessment exercise that was carried out in Taita for the Mwatate PWDs. As usual, there are those who could not get to the venue because of lack transport or ability to move. It is these real challenged that daily hinder the progress of disabled persons. There is great need to avail a vehicle for their transportation.
